Mrs. Edgar has taught a total of 29 years, 19 of them being at Potosi High School.  She is a co-sponsor of FBLA at PHS.  Mrs. Edgar enjoys traveling, shopping, reading, and she loves having her summer time off!

Business Technology

This course is designed to prepare students to assume the duties required from a normal business office involving advanced word processing, and other software applications including: integration of applications, communication techniques , and managerial skills. THIS COURSE OFFERS 3.0 HRS. OF FREE CAREER & TECHNICAL DUAL CREDIT WITH MINERAL AREA COLLEGE (college course: OST1300 Office Procedures I) Students may apply up to 6 hrs. of Practical Arts from the Division of Career & Technical Education as elective credit hrs. towards an ASSOCIATE OF ARTS Degree.

Computer Applications I

Computer Applications I begins with the basics of word processing and moves into advanced features of word processing. This course makes students proficient users of word processing. This course is highly recommended for all students whether they are planning on college or as background for developing vocational skills.

Computer Applications II

Computer Applications II is a semester course designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn spreadsheet and multimedia presentation software. Spreadsheet applications will enable students to learn how to apply formulas to specific call locations in order to perform mathematical computations. Multimedia presentation software will enable students to learn to create dynamic on-screen presentations, which are required by today’s information-driven world.

Supervised Business Experience

This course provides both classroom instruction and on-the-job work experience (off-campus) that give students the opportunity to master academic and workplace skills. Components such as accuracy of work, production, staying on task, and responsibility will be transferred from the classroom to the “real world” as students work at various training sites in the community. Transportation is highly recommended for this course.

Microcomputer Applications

This course uses Microsoft Office 2010 software to introduce the student to the most commonly used applications of microcomputers in business:  word processing, electronic spreadsheets, PowerPoint, database management systems, Windows 7 essentials, and exchange of files between applications.  ONLINE DUAL-ENROLLMENT COURSE WITH MINERAL AREA COLLEGE.
