About the Band:

The Potosi Trojan Bands are under the Direction of Mr. Jordan Simms and Mr. Odell Jackson.  With a total of over 180 students, 95+ high school students and 85+ middle school students, the band has a packed schedule of fun and challenge.  In the Fall, the Marching band is busy competing against other schools to see who can perform the best.  After the stress of Marching season, the band transitions from marching to pep as they perform at basketball games to bring the hype.  The Potosi Band Program has established a reputation of success throughout the years and has become a rival to many other bands. In the fall, the Potosi Trojan Marching Band regularly competes in competitions in both Illinois and Missouri. During the spring semester, the band switches to a Symphonic band and Concert band and performs at many festivals, including State Large Ensemble. We also have a number of students compete in District and State level Solo and Small Ensemble.

The Potosi Trojan Band program has performed in band festivals all over the United States including performances at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida and the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida. They have performed at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and 2 performances in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington DC.  The Potosi Trojan Band has participated in several Bands of America Regional and Super Regional competitions in St. Louis, MO; Atlanta, Georgia; Oxford, Ohio; San Antonio and Texas. The Potosi Trojan Band program continues to be a tradition and staple for the community. The program constantly strives to educate and inspire the future leaders of tomorrow.
