Composition II

This required course, designed for all sophomores, builds on skills learned in Composition I.  Writing units focus on paragraph and essay development, while also addressing issues in usage and mechanics.  Reading units focus on world literature.

Women’s Literature (1st semester)

This course is designed to introduce the student to images of woman literature. Students will read from a variety of genres including stories, poetry, novels and essays written by women with the goal of analyzing the portrayal of women as daughters, sisters, friends, wives and mothers. Special emphasis will be given to the 20th century female authors.

Novel’s 2nd Semester: 

Students will be exposed to the genre of novels. They will identify literary elements, expand vocabulary, will be exposed to different cultures, gain an understanding of human behavior and learn to analyze current literature.
