Mrs. Sitton obtained her BS in Biochemistry from UM in 1999.\u00a0 She then decided to pursue her love of education and returned to college in 2001 to gain her secondary science credentials.\u00a0 She began teaching in 2002.\u00a0 She has taught at PHS in 2004-2006, 2014-2016, and now she has returned!\u00a0 Mrs. Sitton also has obtained her Masters in Education, Specialists in Leadership and is presently working on her Doctorate.\u00a0 The last five years Mrs. Sitton and her family have been living in Advance, MO where she was a 7-12 Principal for Advance High School.\u00a0<\/span>Mrs. Sitton and her family are so happy to have returned home!\u00a0 Both of her children, Blair and Collin, are now attending PHS with her.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Classes:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Biology:<\/span><\/h2>\n

Biology is a full year course in which a variety of instructional approaches will be used in order to provide students with opportunities for gaining factual knowledge and applying skills. Students will develop the ability to connect biological concepts, build higher-level skills, and develop their own viewpoint of the world around them. Content will focus on information and skills needed for the biology end-of-course exam.<\/span><\/p>\n

The students will not only be introduced to major themes of modern biology, but will also be introduced to critical thinking skills and process skills through laboratory investigations. The student will acquire a clear understanding of biological concepts, develop an awareness of the relevance of biology as an integral part of their everyday lives, and develop an appreciation of and interest in biology and all other sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anatomy & Physiology:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Course Description: Anatomy & Physiology is the study of the structure and function of the human body beginning with the chemical basis of life and proceeding through various levels of increasing complexity. The course will concentrate on homeostatic mechanisms used within the body, along with the metabolic processes occurring in each bodily system.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

This course is a great opportunity for students to gather an understanding of the structure and function of the human body in preparation for a career in a related health field. A&P can also be used to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity within the human body. Students will be involved within research case studies, readings, projects (dissections), and problem solving activities. The course will consist of multiple opportunities to complete group activities, but students are also expected to complete individual assignments<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
